OnLine Meeting

This is something everyone should read ... and maybe learn something from it.

AOL meeting leads to fatal stabbing

Nimzay Aponte met Raymond Dennis via AOL, but ultimately refused to meet him face to face.He responded by stabbing her in broad daylight as she sat with a friend, William Sherief, on a park bench in the Bronx, police said. Aponte, 23, who was attending a career conference that day, died a short time after the Tuesday afternoon attack - but not before she gave police a dying declaration: "Mike did it.""Mike," it turned out, was the name by which she knew Dennis online, New York Police Department Commissioner said Thursday. Detectives, armed only with that name, interviewed her friends, including Sherief, 25, who suffered a minor stab wound in the attack, and checked computer records, police sources said.Dennis, 35, an ex-convict who served time for drugs and assault, was arrested Wednesday and charged with murdering Aponte. The stabbing highlights a growing phenomenon - major crimes connected to online social networks. Since March, there have been three killings involving contacts made online.Just last month, Philip Markoff, a medical student, was charged with shooting to death Manhattan masseuse Julissa Brisman in a Boston hotel after they met online."This is a phenomenon that is with us," NYPD Kelly said. "This is the world in which we live. . . . People have to take reasonable precautions."Aponte, police said, was attacked in Mott Haven St. Mary's Park. Kelly said she had met the suspect online but that he "was apparently angry that she expressed no interest in seeing him after the initial Internet connection." Still, Dennis had seen pictures of Aponte. And Kelly said the suspect learned from Aponte she was going to be at the conference.

Happy Mothers Day

This is for my Mom -- Happy Mothers Day in Heaven - Miss You!

You truly don't know how much you miss them till they are gone.

I MISS YOU, MOM

I used to think that people didn't needtheir moms so much after they grew up.But I've realized that's not true.So often, when I'm making a decision,I wish you were hereso I could ask your advice.
And so many times, when something happensthat I know you would enjoy,I wish you were hereto share it with me.
Now that I'm olderI've realized how special our relationship is.And while I'm thankful for this bond, somehow it makes me miss you more..Mom, I love you so very much.
